swim.

Well another week came and went and Mike is now back at work. He took last week off to study for another section of the CPA exam, he was home, but he wasn't on vacation at all. He still worked all day just on the CPA study material. He took the section in Beaumont, Texas on Friday, so he left last Thursday and stayed the night there. It was a great relief to have him home that afternoon and have another section taken. Please keep us in your prayers that he passed. From here he has already passed one, we are now waiting to hear if he passed this one, and then he takes the last two in July. I just pray that he'll pass and he will finally have a chance to relax and this test will no longer be looming overhead.
Needless to say, after all of the studying he took the weekend off and just spent time with us. We have yet to take Carter to the beach or the community pool. We planned to go to the beach, jumped on the highway and after a stand still only five miles down the road, we decided to turn around and go home. The traffic here in Houston is relentless. There should not be that many cars on the road all of the time. We'll have to experience the beach some other time, with less traffic and maybe, just maybe, the gas prices will come down.
So instead we braved the community pool. Which was surprisingly great, we were the only ones there! How awesome was that. We splurged and bought Carter a turtle float where he can sit and it also has a little splash pad and cover to keep the sun off of him. (The pictures don't show the cover. Mike was winded after blowing up just the turtle. The cover will have to wait for our next trip.) This was a great investment. For the most part any other time that we've taken him to the pool he clings to our shoulders with death grips. This time I believe we all had more fun and could enjoy the water and left the pool without pinches or little finger marks. :) Here are a few pictures of Carter and I in the pool. It was a beautiful day and I'm so glad we were able to spend it together as a family. We'll have to do more of these "stay-cations" this summer.

Fun! I just took Ava to the pool yesterday for the first time this year, and it was a blast! Floaty devices are definitely the way to go for sure... you can actually relax a little more and enjoy the water too. That's awesome that Mike took the second part of the CPA test. It'll probably be so nice to have it done with. Cody has been really busy the last few months too, and it really is the best when you can actually just have a day to spend as a family. And you are looking so good, by the way! You can't even tell you're pregnant in those pictures!

Looks like fun! I think you made the better choice by going to the neighborhood pool--you were able to avoid the long, slow drive and the sandy aftermath! I say, "Long live chlorine!"
